URR bridge Hiking Nevis
Mill, Old Bridge of Urr, late 18th to early 19th century. An irregular 2 storey rubble complex on an L plan, sharing a wheel with a rectangular sawmill. The kiln and granary are on the other side of the access road. The wheel is high breast, with cast-iron axle and rings and wooden spokes and buckets, 3ft 8in wide by 16ft diameter (1.11 by 4.88m).

Description 2-arch stonebuilt bridge spanning Water of Urr on Kirkpatrick-Durham/Crossmichael parish boundaries. Probably late 16th-century in origin though considerably rebuilt; widened to the N in 1772 and with parapets rebuilt mid 19th-century and repaired circa 1900.

URR Monongahela River Bridge
Situated at the SE end of Haugh of Urr, at the junction between the roads to Dalbeattie and Urr Church. This type of road sign, or 'fingerpost' was once ubiquitous on the roads of Scotland, and is an important part of the history of road transport. Many were erected during the inter-war period, as a response to the increasing use of the motor car.
